I work with the archeology departments in the States myself, mainly in Florida so we come across some interesting gold things or two. You know, gold ship here, gold ship there... When I saw this necklace on the net it just stunned me. I couldn't believe such things still go for sale. They should be in a museum. Hopefully in the good old USA. As a scientist a stack of 17 century gold coins is one thing, that's just old gold, but a Kings necklace that a whole different level. Granted there might be less gold in the item but it sure got a ton of history. Just think some ancient king paraded in it 2000 years ago, Now that's something. The million dollar question, or should I say 8 million dollar question is whether it is real or not? My humble opinion, sure it is but.... I ran the photos by few PhD's in the field and they all said pretty much what I expected ... that on the photographs it looks as real as it can be but ... obviously they need to look at it live. Figures who wouldn't. In our department we even started cheering for these guys. Hope they sell it. Although who doesn't want a couple extra mil's. Eh I still hope they sell.
